That was... an unsatisfactory ending.

Confessions: I did lead a bit on this walkthru. Primarily hoping to avoid the combat scenes. Ah well.
The chapters at the end are much brisker than those earlier. Stunt stunt die. Stunt stunt stunt stunt die. Generally steady progress. Long movies in the middle, which I skipped on the first pass through (it was late), so I rather lost the thread of the plot along the way. The combat problem is solved by replacing the earlier swords with Excalibur.
There was a moment where I saw great hope for the game. Sultana lying dead on the ground, Tim in combat, when it suddenly occurred to me that I was holding a time machine - obviously the reason for this combat was to get it charged up to restore the Princess Babe to life.
Alas, the sword turns the undead into mulch, and it isn't part of the solution. Which makes me wonder why it was so important to keep her alive through the combat in chapter 34 - each of the fifty whatever times I had to replay that battle until I got it right.
One additional point - the game is rather linear, the path is easy or difficult to perceive, as may be, but there are no false trails to speak of.
