In my highschool years, all of the New England franchises did very well. Not long after that, they all had a bad spell. During this time, I still followed the Redsox, but not the other clubs.
So the Belichick era hasn't grabbed me - I've no particular interest in being a front running bandwagoneer, so hooray for them that they are doing well, but it is all sort of irrelevent to me.
That said, announcer Gil Santos is really good. If I'm going to be driving around the hills of New England listening to a sport I care nothing for, he's my top choice to be calling the play by play.
