Dammit, this is what we should go to war to stop. Here's one way to tell the bad guys: They beat prisoners to death.
There are hundreds of thousands of good soldiers and sailors in the military, of course. It's only a few psychos and an abject failure of civilian and military leadership that permits atrocities such as this. Hopefully, the military leadership, which has more invested in good order and discipline than the civilian leadership, will step up and re-assert its abhorrence of this kind of behavior, punishing those responsible appropriately severely.
