Face Peel

Geez. Over the last couple of weeks, I've been hanging out at the pool some, and after SPF, I've amassed perhaps as much as fifteen minutes in direct Houston summer sun. Never had more than a barely-noticeable pinkening, and that only due to being pasty white to begin with.

Plus, I wore my goony floppy hat, so my face got basically no sun at all.

However, the space between my eyebrows and the sides of my nose are flaking like oatmeal. It's pretty nasty, really. Again, this isn't a sunburn peel; this is probably just very dry skin.

So, figuring that a lot of my readership is a lot more skin and skin cream-oriented than I am (i.e., girls), I'm asking for advice and, ideally, specific brands: what the heck do I start doing to my face to get it to stop doing this?

Scrub with steel wool, like you use on dishes with really tough stains.

(Anyhow it seems like it should work - let me know)

You should definitely exfoliate. Try Clinique's exfoliating scrub or Origin's Never a Dull Moment 2-3 times a week. Both are available at dept store cosmetic counters. Those two will actually leave the live skin cells on your face and you won't get any annoying steel wool splinters.

Moisturize each morning and night. You can get Oil of Olay moisturizer with sunscreen in a basic drug store. An exfoliant you would find in a drug store is St. Ive's Apricot Scrub which is good too.

Also, I find that what I eat, as well as any hormonal disruptions, will make my face peel like that too. ODing on chocolate does it to me everytime. You can try eating more stuff with Omega 3 oils in them (eggs, salmon, tuna) or get a fish oil supplement.

The apricot stuff has ground up apricot pits in it, it's the same principle as my steel wool proposal.
