As you move forward, though, the eta-phi cone closes down, with the effect that you start to lose energy--forward of 60 degress, more than three-quarters of a GeV.
I should point out that these slides are at the particle level--no calorimeter information at all. The theta-phi jetfinder is simply more robust over our fiducial volume.
