Trump Readingsposted by Ginger at 02:23 PM, August 23, 2003 | Filed under : Useful Player Knowledge | Comments and Followups First in an occasional series of Q&A, which is to say, we’ll post interesting questions when we get them. When establishing card draws for characters to read (we’ve got several examples among the redheads right now), to what extent are the cards actually selected by the GM’s based on intended events of the plot, and to what extent are they actually placed by a draw? Is there any particular logic to the mix? The GMs choose the cards that appear based on the nature of the question and the character who’s asking. We have to do it on an individual basis because different people have different sets of Trumps mixed with the decks. While that means there is a “correct” reading from the POV of what the GMs put into it, we’ve seen examples of readings that are completely valid but have different meanings from those we put in. Reading the Trumps is an art, not a science, so it’s quite possible to get more out of the reading than the GMs intended. 0 Comments |
