What Do More Points in Pattern Get You?posted by Ginger at 10:27 PM, August 31, 2003 | Filed under : Useful Player Knowledge | Comments and Followups A Q&A from an offlist exchange, with names removed to protect the guilty. On another note, it occured to me that I don’t have any idea what a 2 in Pattern means over a one in Pattern aside from whatever I could do before I presumably can do faster and easier. It’s the discovering what new things I can do that I am more interested in exploring. Knowing you, I assume the answer would be to simply try things and you’ll let me know what works … Could you give me a few hints what paths [my character] might walk down as a budding Patternmancer? One can walk shadow, but that’s about it. Two has more control and can probably start effectively hellriding. Two might conjure with the pattern, but not wildly unlikely things. Two is unlikely to walk the image of the pattern in his mind. Two is probably too low to attune to the Jewel of Judgement. Fire is the raw energy behind pattern use. The same effect can be generated by a Fire 4/Pattern 4 char as a Fire 7/Pattern 1 char, but the Fire char achieves his results by brute force and the pattern char achieves hers by finesse and skill. 0 Comments |
