Character Proposals Are Closed

With tonight’s posting round, we are closing the character proposals.

We’ve gotten six really good proposals. We’re going to have a hard time making a decision. We don’t have a hard deadline for making a decision, but we will discuss our timeline (which is intertwined with handing out experience for existing PCs) this weekend. When we have a decision date, we’ll announce that.

I want to emphasize that there’s not a bad proposal in the lot and if we could accommodate six players, we’d have six new PCs. Unfortunately, we can only add two right now, and that means good proposals won’t make it. This is a suck consequence of being in the enviable position of having a bunch of good people interested in our game.

Our choices will be based not just on the proposals themselves, but on the makeup of the younger generation (known and unknown) and on the metaphysical and cosmological underpinnings that might be affected by or affect the new PCs. The proposals we take will be the best ones for the game at present, including facts not in public evidence.

We’ll be letting the players who have applied know our decision first, and then we’ll announce to the group which proposals we’ve accepted.

We thank all the lurkers who have applied (and those who haven’t) for their interest.

It may sound a bit trite...

But I feel like I am in a win-win situation.

Either I will be selected and join the game...or I will get to read two more great players with interesting characters to add to the HOC universe.
