Changes to the Contributions Log Down the Roadposted by Ginger at 09:22 AM, May 15, 2004 | Filed under : Technical Issues , Web Site | Comments and Followups Most of you are aware of the pricing change for Movable Type, the software we use to power the GM log and contributions log. While it’s far too early for us to have any definite plans for how to handle the contributions log, it’s where half the users on our MT installation reside, and whatever our upgrade path becomes, it’s likely to be an issue. We have a couple of possibilities. We’re looking at upgrading to several different software packages. We’re also looking at moving contributions updates to the wiki. The advantage of using the wiki is it’s free and it won’t kill you to learn how to use it. The disadvantage is that I can’t get the RSS feed to work, so it doesn’t announce itself the way the blog does. The downside to a new blog package is that y’all will have to learn it, which doesn’t enthuse me or most of you. We will keep people posted on our decisions. Watch this space.
