Late Posts

Over the last-few weeks, we’ve had a number of last-minute posts and posts coming in while we’re writing new posts for the group. While we haven’t said anything about this in the past, it’s happened often enough lately that we’ve decided to say something.

Normally we post Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings (sometimes Saturday or Sunday). This gives players 2-3 days between scheduled GM posts to turn things around. We recognize that everybody is busy—we are too; we don’t post daily any more—and we don’t like to rush people, but when we get a quarter of our posts after 6 PM and we start working on posts at 6:30, as we sometimes do, it makes it hard for us to plan things in advance, particularly for multiplayer threads.

We recognize it’s harder for folks who are travelling and folks who are out of continental US time zones to figure out when we’re posting, but for folks at home, we’d like to ask that you try to get in your posts in before 6 PM Eastern time on posting days at the latest. Those of you who get them in early regularly have our thanks, especially those of you in complicated threads.

If you’re online and have your IM client on and see that we’re working on posts, and haven’t gotten your post in yet, please touch base with us before posting. If we’re just starting, it’s probably not a big deal, but it’s no fun for us when we have posts queued up to see that someone just added a post to the 5-PC chatfest that means we have to rewrite NPC comments. Late posts by their very nature get less GM thought and we’re generally the least satisfied with them. We want to have a fun time writing posts and we want to put out the best posts we can, and getting a chance to review and think about posts while we’re eating dinner is a big help.
