Bugs Bunny and the Thin Man are coming to DVD in the near future. Details after the jump.
The third Looney Tunes Golden Collection will hit stores in October. It features a disc of Bugs, a disc of Daffy, a Hollywood tribute disc, and in an attempt to annoy our fearless leader, Greg Morrow, a disc of Porky. The rundown of shorts included indicates that Warner will finally be gracing us with "Duck! Rabbit! Duck!" thus completing the trilogy.
By the way, apparently the first two collections sold too many copies. The news release indicates Whoopi Goldberg is introducing each disc, presumably in some sort of bizarre effort to drive customers away. It claims she's an animation fan, but I don't believe that, because if so she wouldn't have tried to ruin the set by inflicting herself on us.
Warner is also releasing two of its feature length Bugs Bunny theatrical releases in a single two-disc set.
On a different subject, with the death of Sue Dibny, I heard many people compare Ralph "The Elongated Man" Dibny and Sue to Nick and Nora Charles. I don't necessarily agree myself, although Ralph does get his powers from drinking, but judge for yourself, because coming up in August, The Thin Man Collection also from Warner comes out. Yes, Warner has just about the most desirable catalogue of any major studio, and is taking pains to restore everything before releasing it. The quality on these should be fabulous.
