In lieu of anything interesting or cogent to say, I will say one thing about the new Anita Blake comic adapting the first novel.
Anita is half Hispanic. This is important to her back-story. She's not particularly dark for someone with Hispanic ancestry. But, above all, she is not an albino.
(The first six or so books in the series are pretty good. Then they start getting rapidly worse. And, of course, by innovating sexy-violent urban fantasy-horror, Hamilton is morally culpable for the metric tons of shit currently infecting our nation's SF bookshelves. At least when she did it, there wasn't a formula. Not that I have a strong opinion or anything.)
