A Favor

by Doug

I've got a couple of friends who are looking for a short theatre piece--a scene or a one-act--about two superheroines. They asked me for suggestions, but I'm coming up dry. I'm not aware of any preexisting pieces that would fit, and I've also not been able to think of specific comics stories that might be easily adapted. (There are some that also feature superheroes, but nothing for two women is occurring to me.) Any ideas?

I'm not sure these would be long enough, but:

Saturn Girl and Dream Girl have a nice conversation in the backup feature to LSH v5 #13.

Supergirl and Light Lass have some good exchanges in... #17 and #22-#24 of the same series; maybe they could be attached together.

Why not just do Albee's - Zoo Story but use a couple of super heroines as the two characters. There are plenty that would work. After all the story is a metaphor for virtually any conflict you can think of, including two super heroines that perhaps don't get along.

Birds of Prey, especially the older stuff, is mostly Oracle and Black Canary.

There's a funny scene in the Incredibles between Elastigirl and Edna Mode. I'm not sure how it would play without the animated effects.

The current issue of Birds of Prey is mostly Oracle trying to talk Black Canary out of marrying Green Arrow, how he hit on her when she was Batgirl, etc. That stuff could easily be adapted, I'd've thought.
