The art on those golden age comics is really amazing. Diana and Hypolytte look like they stepped right off a Grecian statue.
As simplistic as it is I still prefer this alien invasion story to Our Worlds at War. If they were to have plant aliens invade today, they would no doubt rape Etta Candy to implant the seeds and then have them burst out when she arrived back at Earth. It would have to be a huge cross-over with ludicrous mischaracterizations and "shocking" deaths as well.
