Remember when we used to announce Curmudgeons Cons early enough that if anybody wanted to come they actually had enough time to make arrangements? This is sort of like that.
Curmudgeons Con XX is coming up on Saturday. We've carefully planned its timing so that we're far enough in front of Comic-Con International that no attendees are in danger of con overload before heading out to the West Coast. In honor of the significant Curmudgeons Con anniversary, we'll be following the routine that has served us well on XVIII of the XIX previous cons and has become so beloved: Manny's in Chicago's South Loop at 1:00. Once we've had our fill of their wondrous deli treasures, we'll adjourn (probably across the street) for some alcoholic nourishment. In case you're not sure what to expect, just ask Jim Caldwell to find out what we talk about. As always, all comers are welcome.

Well, it was a small group, and the pastrami was excellent.
We discussed a wide range of topics, but due to the ephemeral nature of our discussions, much was forgotten by the time we strolled out of the South Loop Tasting room.

And for those of you who've been reading these, our favorite acoustic guitar-player was back again this week. We actually requested "Africa" and "I Want You Back" - and he was appreciative of our applause. Good times, good times.
IIRC (and I may not), we also requested "Psycho Killer," but he didn't know it (or any Talking Heads songs).
