We had a Curmudgeons Con today, but we forgot to tell you ahead of time. But it's not like you would have showed up anyway. You never call, you never write ...
Jim will be along presently to let you know what we talked about. Meanwhile, we'll be doing it again next month, probably on the third Saturday of the month. Or maybe we'll combine it with a trip to the Windy City Comic Con. You never know.

It was a soggy, soggy day*, but the conversation was sunny and warm. We discussed great and various topics, like:

Mike Chary Of Earth-2: Unhampered by knee injuries, he starred in Division 1 football, parlaying that into a long, storied career in the NFL (with the Cleveland Browns). He dipped his toes into Hollywood, leading to an odd role as Wiley Post in The Will Rogers Story. After retirement, with his love of comics unabated, he would appear at Wizard World Chicago for autograph signings. He found himself inevitably seated next to Gil Gerard. The End.
Late into the early evening, our favorite acoustic guitarist turned up to begin his set. As he was playing an acoustic version of Aerosmith's "Dream On," we realized it was time to go our separate ways into the deepening twilight.
*While we did receive a record 6.63 rainfall, we fully realized that there were others who were enduring far, far worse.

So, since I would have graduated in 1991 as an Offensive tackle (I was 6'6" 300 as a high school senior, so they wouldn't have red shirted me at either Michigan or ND,) I assume you mean that I would have played or the Baltimore Ravens. Do I get a superbowl ring, because if so, I'm having one made...
I believe the Browns didn't move until the mid-90s, so I guess you were drafted by Cleveland and then went with them to Baltimore. Maybe when the Browns started back up, they traded you back to Cleveland where you finished your career. If so, you missed out on your Super Bowl Ring.
It's not you, Mike, it's your Earth-2 duplicate. Surely you've read enough JLA-JSA team-ups to understand the difference.
And on Earth-2, the team is still the Cleveland Browns. When Art Modell threatened to move them in 1995, Drew Carey (who on Earth-2 somehow seems to be an odd mix of Drew Carey and Jim Caldwell) bought him out to keep the team in town. Although I haven't followed all the developments closely, an Earth-2 Baltimore Ravens team somehow seems to have sprouted up in 1999.
I believe that E-2 Mike Chary felt a kindred bond with the city/fans of Cleveland. So did Art Modell, and the Earth-2 Art Modell never took the final step of actually relocating the Browns. He bided his time, and the city did build the new stadium. Mike, late in his career, did consider signing a free agency deal with the expansion Indianapolis club to be close to home ...
(Meta-textually, someone immediately said Cleveland was where you played. It directly tied into the whole "Drew Carey" discussion.)
I think I had mentioned that after I hurt my knee I ended up going to school in Cleveland (Case Western Reserve University) instead of schoolm with a football program.
