Amazon is currently listing the Complete Pogo v1 for Oct 19...2009. That'll make two and a half years from first announcement of the project, and at least two release reschedulings.
I am impressed. Not in the good way.

It would help if they were making it more readily known why the project is delayed. Apparently they're having trouble finding some of the Sunday strips for the first volume. Which, since they're the highlight of the book for those of us who already have the dailies in one or more forms, is a reasonable excuse to delay. But they need to get the word out on why better, I think.
The Sundays are a highlight for me, too.
Where are you learning this? Other than the original announcement, I'm not finding anything on Google, nor searching the Fantagraphics blog (at least, not at the time I noticed the last delay).
It was in an issue of the Fort Mudge Most from earlier this year that I first saw it. I vaguely recall seeing another mention somewhere online but I can't find it right off.
Like I said, they're doing a bad job of getting the word out even if I think it's a legitimate reason to delay. Like I said, I've got reprints of the dailies for the first few years. So the Sundays are the big draw of the early volumes. (That, and I want uniform reprints of all the strips to go with the volumes of semi-uncollected material.)
The good news from that Fort Mudge Most is that they're only missing material from the first volume; so later books should follow regularly once they get started.
Something for my 39th birthday, then!
I should probably subscribe to the Fort Mudge Most.
I've only got the one issue, they threw it in when I ordered Pogo Files for Pogophiles from the fan club. This issue was mostly reprints of Kelly's comic book work; which is always nice to see. (And sorry I repeated myself in my last post, I should have previewed. The danger of typing when tired.)
