If we enabled comment whitelisting through TypeKey, would you be able to take advantage of it?

Possibly. I do have to wonder how that would work in terms of when you would disagree with posts.
Well, comments might occasionally be visible for short periods before being moderated. Since almost all comments wouldn't have to be moderated, the improvement in posting time probably easily outweighs the potential downside.
I don't think I would. (I guess it's the sort of thing where if you have one, you know it.)
Don't even know what that is.
TypeKey is a plug-in that we (and when I say "we" I mean "someone other than me -- probably either Greg or Ginger") would add to the website. You would then have two options.
Option One is that you keep posting the same way you do now. You would put in your name and e-mail address and make a post, and then it would go off into a queue until the author of the post to which you are commenting approves it.
Option Two is that you sign up for a TypePad/TypeKey account. When you post your comment, you indicate that you are a TypeKey user, log-in, and make your comment. If you are on the whitelist (and all of our regular posters would be on the whitelist), the comment then would automatically get posted without waiting for the post's author to approve it.
Basically, it's a way to allow your comments to show up here more quickly at the trade off of requiring you to have a log-in.
I've used TypeKey on a few other blogs. It sometimes forgets who I am, but that just means a few extra clicks.
