From a UK site dedicated to making fun of men who wear socks with sandals, I present "Hamish". I can't tell what clan Hamish is currently disgracing, but clearly someone needs to threaten him with a claymore.
Generally, I am in favor of anything that makes kilts more common. Sport kilts, Tie-dyed kilts, cammo kilts, construction worker kilts, Celebrity Kilts. Yes, that last is a link to Sir Sean Connery wearing the same tartan I got married in. Sir Sean and I are like that. We're probably less closely related than I am to George Washington. Where was I? Oh yeah. Hamish is not so good. Kilt + socks + sandals=bad.

Ahhh!! My eyes, man! My eyes! (wipes blood from cheeks)
I do however appreciate the link to your wedding picture. It reminded me that I have seen Angelo in a kilt. It was a great day. I will always be grateful to you for that.
(And the wedding was cool too.) ;)

It's good to be both appreciated and unappreciated. Hamish, btw, is a clickable link, in case your eyes need to be assaulted by a much larger image.
This is a better picture of you, Angelo, John Waldron and your shoe.
You know, when you told me he was wearing socks with sandals, you didn't tell me you meant *bobby socks*. Yuck!

I'm trying to picture what an Amish kilt would look like. Maybe I should stop before someone gets hurt.

Probably something like this. Kilts and later "Kilt Suits" were apparently very commonly worn by boys who were too old for dresses (2-10 years old) during the Victorian period (both in the British Empire and in America). This picture is of a 4-5 year old boy from Brockton, Mass. In fact, the whole Historical Boys' Clothing site is fascinating and may require a separate entry...
This winter, when I had a broken toe and couldn't get my foot into normal shoes, I discovered the joy of socks and Tevas. It was terribly comfy, so I decided to embrace my inner hippie and go with it. Carlos was horrified.
I promise, though, I never wore them with a kilt.

Amy, as they say in the south, Carlos' mother brought him up right. However, an exception is made for medical necessity. Plus, you don't look like the guys on that site.
