Fairness And Balance in Outsourcing
August 15, 2003 Politics
Republicans to raise funds via Noida, Gurgaon. With all the talk of outsourcing technical positions to India and the loss of high-paying technical jobs at places like ADP and BMC, it should not be forgotten that lousy, creepy jobs are also going offshore.
Hello, I'm calling for the Republican Party, do you have any money to spend to help make America a better place for her corporate overlords?

Love to help the cause, buddy, but I just lost my job when they opened that new overseas call center.

My friend Michael. My Movable Type forum advisor... Tsk tsk. Haven't you heard the latest rumors about business in the free enterprise system? It is called "Free Enterprise." That means, sir, that the decisions of a company are "FREE." I just felt that since you obviously are not going to mimic Mr. Al Franken with the "fair and balanced" sarcasm - you must then be simply implying that government should actually extend its tendrils into the very core of business decision-making, to assure creepy jobs stay in the USA as well as hi-tech Bangalor-bound jobs, for the sake of securing our better mutual social contract. Who's the bully telling you how to run your household? But real liberty is all about being rich and vicious, correct? Those meanie corporations. All they do is employ you then abandon you, as though they owed you something more than the opportunity you might be able to supply... :)

I don't know about you, but the word "free" still means absence from undue control to me. I'm sure the wagon-trail wheel-makers union is still upset that their union couldn't keep them employed. Think of that one next time you drive your automobile...

But I can't blast you too hard. You got me up and running on a Ones and Zeros Liberal grant. I wonder if that service you provided me was actually fair to the unfortunate people that never sought it? Isn't it exclusive that I was able to access the forum at all? Isn't that unfair discrimination Michael that the out of work lousy, creepy jobs people with nothing to do now could not access the internet for fair demand of your advice? :)

I would write more, but I'm trying to deduct all the taxes I paid this week. I'm sure they are going to a worthy cause, like supporting a state legislature that refuses to actually do its job by fleeing to New Mexico. Sorry, but I'm the one feeling bullied for every dollar of my tax money spent this abstention from duty.

But seriously, we should just shut down all companies don't you think? Those guys aren't the kind socialists we've all come to expect. I wonder where all that "money to spend" came from in the first place you now see so fit to ridicule. Gee. Probably because the government didn't catch up to them fast enough...:)

Sincerely, my PC is not yet junk in Clear Lake, "right"fully given you pause for thought,

Clear Lake Reflections

I would ask Mark what he thinks of the fact that Head Start programs are going to be shut down, and grandpa losing his medicaid? Are these also concessions we are willing to make to have lower taxes for the wealthy? The economy sucks right now. You can dress up Bush in any kind of pretty outfit you want, and he still only cares about one group in America: The big companies that own his SOUL.
