I watched the Friends finale last night.
"Watched" is perhaps too strong a word. I veered back and forth between it and the Bam Margera article in the latest issue of Rolling Stone. Beers were also consumed, which helped the process.
Being a (relatively) new father, I only had a couple minor nitpicks - as opposed to the relatively large nitpick that is the show itself:
1. Do they let you bring babies home the day they're born? I wish I'd known that a few months ago, so as to avoid sleeping on that Inquisition-era hospital room couch.
2. I'm not very familiar with the dynamic of Chandler and Monica's relationship, but if I'd spent the first few hours after returning from the hopsital with my friend trying to get birds out of a foosball table, my kid would be collecting my life insurance right now.
3. If Ross and Phoebe had died on the way to the airport I'd be calling last night's finale the greatest TV episode of all time. As it is, I can't understand why women aren't sending letter bombs to NBC to protest Rachel backing out of going to Paris in order to stay with that bassett-faced mook.
4. Does the fact that Drea De Matteo will be starring on Friends spin-off Joey make anyone think her FBI informant storyline on The Sopranos is about to end with extreme prejudice?

I dunno but I do know that with her on the show I might watch it just for the eye candy .... even though I never watch Friends regularly at all :-P Hell, I didn't even see the last episode.
Yes, you can take the baby home almost immediately, though they recommend staying overnight. Since Annelisa was our second, I knew to bring in a 3-inch thick foam pad and my own sheets and blanket. Much more comfortable.
You had a couch? For my first, I had to pull two chairs together. I got smarter for the second, requesting one of those fold-in-half beds with the 1/4" thick mattress and the bed-of-nails-like springs. Funny, but my wife couldn't quite grasp the pain I was in.
The secret to avoiding the couch is to have unavoidable reasons to go home. For son #1 I had to go home to look after the dogs. For son #2, I had to go home to look after son #1 and the dogs.
It worked out really well, especially considering that the same hospitals that strongly encourage birth as a family event often don't even seem inclined to provide a meal for the recovering father!

Not necessarily, given the short Sopranos seasons (plus the fact there's only one to go) and her relatively limited role there. She may yet get whacked, or she may be the catalyst that gets Tony either whacked or busted. Who knows?
