Very metal

Posted by pete at June 4, 2004 10:32 PM

Home alone with the rugrat this weekend, which means I spent the last three hours watching #40-something through #1 of VH1's "Top Metal Moments." Pretty amusing stuff (#2 was Tony Iommi getting caps for his severed fingertips and tuning his guitar down to invent "the Sabbath sound," #1 was...Hear'n Aid), and an interesting - if somewhat depressing - trip down memory lane for some of us (OMG like I totally didn't know Chris Holmes of W.A.S.P. got beaned with a frozen rump roast in Finland).

I only caught about half of it, but someone tell me Iron Maiden got a spot ot two. It seemed like half the top 30 were dedicated to either Mötley Crüe or Poison.

Hey, They Live is on AMC. Gotta go.

Egad. I was stuck watching that with my brother and my nephew as I re-installed XP. It would have been an awesome show if they had actually PLAYED SOME DAMN MUSIC!!!!!!

Well, you know...17-year-old, Trans-Am-with-t-tops-driving, Dazed-and-Confused awesome.

Gawd...what am I saying?

1) They Live is an underrated movie. 2) When are they re-running this? Wish I'd seen it.
