The lovely and talented Rory Aronsky got the jump on me at Film Threat with his review for Team America: World Police (mine will probably up later this weekend), so I went ahead and put mine up at Blogcritics. Check it out here.
My son is 19 and we have very similar senses of humor. But, he wants to see it with his college friends not his decrepit old mother so, if I go (and I'd like to), I'm either on my own or I'll have to go with hubby. He's a good guy, but he'll never make it through the opening credits before falling asleep. Ah well, more popcorn for me!
Well crap Pete, thanks for that compliment. That has me absolutely floored because 90% of the time, I'm worrying whether the sentences I put together make any sense. I already know Phil Hall appreciates me (I found out I'm in the acknowledgment section of his new book), but it's nice to know I'm e-loved by others.
Incidentally, Pete, your writing on FT, besides Doug's and Phil's is what I read in order to get inspiration and stare at the screen in glassy-eyed admiration.
I think at least once a week when I'm writing a review, I'm wishing I had some of your style.
Ok, I always thought Thunderbirds was sacrosanct and no one, but NO ONE had the right to tamper with its perfection. Well, now that I've said that and completely embarrassed myself, I was a little irked when I found out this movie wasn't going to treat the Thunderbird puppets with the respect they deserve. Oh man, another embarrassing revelation. Anyway, your review has convinced me to let go of my preconceived notions and see this film. Well, my son twisted my arm into going so that may have something to do with it. And, hey, who can resist the promise of watching puppet sex? I can't resist.
