Here's one thing UT has over OU anyway:
NORMAN, Okla - The University of Oklahoma is banning alcohol at fraternities and residence halls, two months after a 19-year-old student died of alcohol poisoning.
The new rules go into effect January 18th, at the start of the new semester. Students who violate the rule three times will be suspended for one semester.
The university also will set up a hot line for students to report violations, and will expand alcohol education programs.
Quitters. The University of Texas has two, count 'em, two bars on campus. The Texas Tavern, and the Cactus Cafe. I don't know the current rules for residence halls, but in my day you could have it if you were over 21.
Then again, you couldn't have a girl in your room with door closed.
Student Blake Hammontree died September 30th after a fraternity party. He had a blood-alcohol content more than five times the legal limit. The frat has since been shut down.
Throughout high school, I was reminded on several occasions by my maternal grandfather that I was a Pi Kappa Psi legacy (don't laugh) and that I should look into pledging when I attended Texas. The summer before my freshman year, he brought it up again, and I had to inform him with mock disappointment that his old frat had killed a pledge with alcohol poisoning the previous spring.
With all the change and turmoil of this modern world, it's nice to know some things remain constant.
so, UT leads OU in recent drinking deaths and in the raw count of infamous bullet holes. I think Mac Brown is off the hook now
