Vote Quimby

I see someone nominated me for "Best Culture Blog" on Wizbang's 2004 Weblog Awards. Thank you sincerely.

Having said that, there's not a chance in hell I'm winning, and here's why:

1. Wizbang's readership tends to skew a little to the right side of the spectrum, which isn't exactly my "base." Hell, Little Green Footballs won Best Overall Blog last year. 'nuff said.

2. I'm up against A Small Victory. Michele clocks more hits in an hour than I get in a week.

3. Defamer actually deserves it.

Hm. Maybe instead of thanking laanba for her nomination, I should be pissed off by how much of an ass-whomping I'm going to get when the final votes are tallied. I'm expecting roughly Walter Mondale numbers.

Dude, we can still win this. I'll have all my people vote for you. I'm not as big as ASV, but I'm big.

I couldn't pass up that category without tossing your name into the ring. It so deserves it. I have no idea whether it will expand your readership, but hey.... kudos for a great blog.

C'mon Pete, you know they're all a scrofulous bunch at best. You deserve it and you know you want it, Baby! Take a page from the Republicans on winning elections. Vote early, vote often and encourage your dead relatives to do the same. ;)
