And...I'm spent

Revenge of the Sith review is up. I went back and forth between 3 1/2 and 4 stars, and finally settled on the latter. Mostly because I couldn't justify saying Assault on Precinct 13 was quite as good.

I also kept coming back to the fact that it's one of the few movies in the last couple years, Star Wars or otherwise, that I immediately wanted to watch again.

Pete, you're killing me. I swore off paying George Lucas one more dime of my not-so-hard-earned jack, and now you're telling me the movie's good? This is awful news. Are you sure this isn't just your superego being overwhelmed by your inner fanboy?

Crap. What to do. Crap.

I'm not promising anything, and I admit to being more forgiving of certain ridiculous aspects because of my enjoyment of the film as a whole. Knowing what you didn't like about the last two, you might be better off paying matinee prices.

hey pete, i'm curious to know who the music writer is that you referenced in that review. it sounds suspiciously like my editor at the austin chronicle.

I'm actually referencing you referencing your music editor, which you did in your Kid Rock article in 2002.

Eh, who am I kidding? I'll see it. But I'll buy no concessions, except hooch I smuggle in. Take *that* George Lucas.

Pete - you know how much I hate Lucas... and I know how much a fan you are of the series. But I have to tell you, your even-handed and solid review of the film -- plus, admittedly, a kick-ass trailer -- have me actually convinced to go see this one.

Nice work, dude. If a movie reviewer's job is to convince his readers whether to see a film or not, you did yours well today. I'll let you know what I think... thanks!

Hey Pete, I really enjoyed reading your review. I just got back from the movie this evening and I'm still trying to sort out how I feel about it. I definitely enjoyed it and I will definitely be going back. I think your interview was dead on.
