Co-starring Joey Lauren Adams as Karen Page

Celebrity romances and superhero comics are two great tastes that probably won't taste so great together:

Newlyweds Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck are keen to star in Daredevil 2 together, in their first screen collaboration as husband and wife. The loved-up pair, who married earlier this summer, first met on the set of Daredevil in 2003, and are hoping to revisit the action thriller after their first child is born this autumn. Garner says, "Ben says it's in the early stages, but he is hopeful. It would be fun to work together, not to mention convenient."

Yes. Convenient. Certainly there's no chance this will crater at the box office like his previous attempt to make a movie with his significant other. And I'm sure the execs at 20th Century Fox aren't thinking that at all as they laugh nervously to themselves and chew their fingernails to the quick.

Saying I couldn't give a shit about Garner and Affleck's relationship is actually vastly overstating the situation. I bring it up because I actually saved this Ben Affleck quote when I first saw it, back in 2003, because I had a sneaking suspicion it would come back to bite him on the ass:

"I don't know about Daredevil 2. That may be too much work for me. I don't have any idea. I suppose that if Kevin Smith wrote it and was going to be involved, I would do it. But I'm not banging down the door trying to get Daredevil 2 made. You'll know when my career is really on the slide when I start resurrecting the franchise"

From the horse's mouth, as they say.

They should get Brian Michael Bendis to write/ direct. Then he wouldn't have to worry about it being too much work- the movie would be all dialogue with only ten minutes of him in the daredevil suit.

God I hate Ben Affleck and his no-talent smarmy-ass Hollywood career. You just can't say enough about how much this guy not only sucks, but deserves a weekly ass-stomping as well. I hope that one day, in mentioning him, I can use the term "guttenbergesque."

Then he wouldn't have to worry about it being too much work- the movie would be all dialogue with only ten minutes of him in the daredevil suit.

And the whole film could be shot using one stationary camera.

Actually, I'd pay to see a version of Dare Devil 2 film written by Kevin Smith.

If only they could work Jay and Silent Bob into the movie, so Jay can spend 90 minutes commenting on Jennifer Garner in spandex. And I'm sure they can work Matt Damon in there somewhere.

Why does this guy have a career?
