In the wake of a very hectic couple of days, let me just express my gratitude to the following teams for making sure that my weekend, at least, was extremely enjoyable:
1. The Oklahoma Sooners - for giving this Texas Longhorn hope for the first time in four years.
2. The Texas A&M Aggies - for losing, period.
3. The Houston Astros - for giving up 2 of 3 to the NL Central champion Cards and making Chris Carpenter the odds-on favorite for the Cy Young.
It doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things, but I'll take what I can get.
t.u. has no hope, so give it up now.
No hope of what?
Hey, maybe you guys could hire R.C. back.
No hope of beating OU, winning a National title, getting out from under the inability to win the big games when t.u. has arguabley had the most talented players in the country for the last three years, etc.
R.C. was a good guy, just a little bit set in his ways (run up the middle, up the middle, up the middle, punt). R.C. is partly to blame for the paucity of talent Coach Fran had to start out with when he came on board. Hopefully our pitiful loss to Clemson will light a fire under our players and coaches collective asses and they can get the spark back. We are a long way from the Wrecking Crew of the past, but hope burns eternal in Aggieland.
You may retch now.
*(*&^%#%##%^&%&&%! - that sums up my feelings about the A&M loss. I was very happy to hear that OU lost. t.u. has no hope, so give it up now.
