For those of you following George R.R. Martin's ASoIaF series (Dad, Brandon, Seadogs, Mason, and Danil), I just checked the tracking on Amazon for my copy of A Feast for Crows:

I anticipate a somewhat less than productive weekend.
The Dragon Page Podcast just interviewed GRRM and he said there were either 2 or 3 more books to go (I forget which). There shouldn't be as long a wait between this one and the next because he has a bunch of the next one written from back before he realized how effin' huge it was going to be if he didn't split it up.
Yeah, and David Gerrold and Harlan Ellison keep claiming ridiculous numbers of pages done for the next Chthorran book and the next Dangerous Visions book, respectively. Let's wait and see what he puts out...
I couldn't wait like you, Pete, I had to get to the bookstore right as it opened and buy it. If I'd realized, I could've ordered it from Amazon UK and had it in mid-October! Hope you enjoy it.
At this rate, anything less than a six year lag between books will seem like an improvement.
Hope you enjoy it.
Did you enjoy it? I thought about the Amazon UK option, but couldn't justify spending upwards of $40 on it.
How long has it been since the last War Against the Chthorr book, anyway? More, please!
"How long has it been since the last War Against the Chthorr book, anyway? More, please!"
December 1, 1992.
Hmm. A novel every 13 years ought to be possible, even if he's giving lectures like mad.
I'm only on page 150 or so, it's all I can do to find time to read this week. So far I am liking it, but I don't want to say anything spoiler-wise. Originally I thought I'd have this read in 72 hours or less, but the last long wait has made savoring it a better option!
Oh, and that "Quest For Thrones" game I didn't win, but somebody one town over did. They got some nice swag including an autographed copy of the book.
I think the Chthorr book will come out right about the time the sequel to Stars in My Pocket Like Grains of Sand comes out. At least, I think that there's one mentioned in the end of my edition.
Makes the wait between Astro City issues seem mayfly-like in comparison.
How long before they release the paperback? Ha, ha. At least it will give me time to re-read the series since because of the increasingly long intervals between the books I cannot remember much about it. Is this the final volume, or are we looking at another Robert Jordan "Wheel of Time" fiasco here?
