Was he lying?

I can hear the Aggie faithful convulsing in rage over the latest words from Texas QB Vince Young:

Vince Young calls A&M’s fans “drunks.” Fortunately for Vince, that’s what A&M’s players and coaches have performed like this season. Especially at home.

As a 10-year resident of College Station, who has spent more evenings at Duddley's Draw, the Dixie Chicken, the Tap, and - yes - the Hall of Fame and Denim & Diamonds than I care to admit...you are a bunch of drunks. Then again, so are the Longhorns. If anything, Young is guilty of hypocrisy, not dishonesty.

Texas by 30. Hook 'em Horns.

HALFTIME UPDATE: Okay, so I may have to revise that prediction.

Oh, and in reply to this:

USC-Penn State for the BCS title. Besides, the Rose Bowl ought to be Big Ten-Pac Ten anyway.

Penn State's loss to a powerhouse 7-5 Michigan team kinda puts the kibosh on that plan. Too bad JoePa can't play Central Michigan and Illinois every game.

Ags always choke in 3rd 1/4. Id really hate to see my team f*** up a national championship bid for a berth in the houston bowl.

Is that time of year already? Happy bickering and smack talking!

Um, what's that chant? Over-rated?!

USC-Penn State for the BCS title. Besides, the Rose Bowl ought to be Big Ten-Pac Ten anyway.

But congratultions on eke-ing out the win yesterday; always nice to beat your archrival.

All I can say is that the Ags made a better showing than I thought they would. By the way, who the #$*! came up with the swinging gate punt formation? Man, it hasn't worked all year and it really hurt us on Friday. Congratulations Pete, your team is far superior this year. I will have to say that I do think we hurt Vince Young's chances of winning a Heisman this year. Well, now I will have to look forward to rooting for USC this year at the Rose Bowl.

Man, a guy from the "Big 12" is gonna get on JoePa (or anyone else from the Big Ten) about weak non-conference schedules (not to mention that the Big 12 was a weak-ass conference this year)?

I'm not even a PSU fan -- just a Big Ten guy who knows a superior conference when he sees it. While the so-called Big 12 will be lucky to break .500 in the bowls (including a crushing loss by the Horns to USC in the Rose Bowl), the Big Ten's gonna go at least 5-2.

The difference being, UT beat their mediocre 7-5 opponent (Oklahoma). Penn State didn't. I'm not arguing that Texas has much of a prayer against USC, but they earned the right to play them by virtue of an undefeated season, PSU didn't.

Maybe Penn State can bolster their argument by winning their conference championship game. Oh wait...
