Seeking copy editor

This pic on the Houston Chronicle site has since been corrected (it originally ran on Friday), but the fact that it made it there at all is pretty hilarious:

Who knew Mary Kay Letourneau had an oratory contest?

Based on the lack of comments, perhaps I'm not the only one who doesn't "get" what this blog entry is about. Or perhaps its so obvious that everyone but me gets it, in which case I'm more of a buffon than previously believed.

Denny, read the sentence again.

Aside from the awkwardness of 'today again won', consider the initials.

Do you remember Martin King Luther's "I dream a have" speech?

Neither do I. Nor should the allegedly professional editors at the Chronk (Houston's Leading Misinformation Source).

On the other hand, I spent most of my college years going past the signs for Christ the Lvtheran King Chvrch, so "Luther" and "Lutheran are apparently tricksy words...

Ah, the 'MKL' typo. Got it. Carry on.
