What a mess, reviews piling up and me with no place to put them:
Something New - **1/2
When a Stranger Calls - 1/2*
Curious George - ***
The Pink Panther - 0
Firewall - **1/2
As far as this week goes, I'd say to go see Curious George if you have little kids. Everyone else would be better off staying home and pouring battery acid in their eyes.
Hey Mr. Movie Guy, I have another question. So, I've been asked if I'd watch and review screeners (or possibly screamers) for the Newport Beach Film Festival. (In California, apparently every city of population 50,000+ has one of those). They say they get thousands of entries and need random folks off the street to get plastered and then recommend which ones to show. They specificied that I have to get drunk while watching them - but that may just be a safety precaution. Or if it was screamers, then they're just trying to kill me with the deadly combination of homicidal robots and Peter Weller movies - that I could understand. Should I do it? If I watched, say, ten screeners for a random low-grade film festival like this, is there any chance I'd see anything worthwhile?
