Connery had a certain earthy quality about him, and Dalton's portrayal always hinted at the brutality within, but Craig might go down as the first Bond to actually scare the shit out of me. Having said that, I've been a 007 fan since childhood, and I'm willing to give the new guy a shot, if only because there seems to be such a backlash against him.
And because I fear grievous bodily harm.
It's like Bond meets Hannibal Lecter.
To me he looks more like a cross between Donald Grant and Kronsteen.
After watching the trailer... they could screw this up. They could screw this up very badly. But I really like the odds.

Wasn't this the Russian guy in From Russia with Love? Almost handsome in a scary ass kinda way. Does he have a sidekick with a shank shoe? Just wondering.
He looks like Steve McQueen to me. And not Steve from the beginning of a movie.
He does seem a bit simian, but I'm willing to take that chance.

You're thinking of Robert Shaw, a fantastic actor who also played Quint in Jaws. Sadly, he died quite a few years ago. There is a resemblance, though.
The only word that comes to mind when I look at him is "simian". He's just plain ole creepy. And he REALLY did not need to be seen in that speedo. Not at all.
