Thoughts on seeing X-Men: The Last Stand

"Way to kill a franchise, Ratner."

That, and a number of other thoughts I'd rather not spoil before my review comes out.

Oh fine, one more:

"Why don't they just float the cars over?"

You'll understand when you see it.

Goddammit. I was holding out hope...but goddammit.

Marvel doesn't even have any control over this, do they? I heard a different series will start up, maybe even one with a Rogue with a Cajun accent and Apocalypse lurking in the background, at a different studio (think "Batman Begins.")

Avi Arad is still a producer for all Marvel-Fox properties, though I couldn't tell you how much pull he exerts over the final product.

As for spin-off series...Wolverine and Magneto already have their movies in the works, although events in the most recent film might make a Rogue film a little difficult.

I'm not sure what this "different studio" you speak of is in re: Batman Begins. It, along with all DC adaptations, was handled by Warner Bros.

Yep a dissappointing story it was. I was expecting them to at least not make it seem like a replay of "Carrie" with Jean. YIKES...but they did blow up stuff awful good. And isn't that the *measure* of a summer blockbuster movie these days?
