Nice,
I love Die Hard, and Die Hard 2. Not as big a fan of the third one, but that wasn't originally a John McClane story.
Truly, this is a magical era in which we live, when our favorite elderly actors like Bruce Willis and Sylvester Stallone are returning to the roles that made them famous. And I note with some amusement that Willis finally bit the bullet and gave us a totally shorn McLane. I wonder if he was consciously affecting the Vic Mackey look.

WOW. That is, hands-down, the very best side-by-side I’ve seen in a long time! As a huge fan of both McClane and Mackey, I am very impressed. Thanks for making my day.
Die Hard was brilliant. Loved it.
Unfortunately, Die Hard II was utter crap. Too many plot points were hopelessly absurd; it was impossible to maintain suspension of disbelief. This ranks right up there with Highlander II for Most Disappointing Sequel of All Time.
Die Hard III split the difference. Much better than the second, not nearly as good as the first.
Still, I’m looking forward to Die Hard IV. I’m an optimist.

You make some valid points, but how can you forget ICICLE IN THE EYE?
this is fantastic news……and they’ve updated “ode to joy” for the fourth installment. outstanding. Now I know why our nation was born on July 4th — so that John McClane could save it 231 years later.
and yes, Die Hard II sucked Mason.
BTW, i wonder if the ‘Mac’ guy can really act.
He was great in Galaxy Quest.
I rememebr you telling me how much Bruce Willis stole your heart in ARMAGEDDON…and I agree. I mean, I don’t wanna close my eyes…I don’t wanna miss a thing…
