"We interrupt this public affairs program to bring you a football game."

Then again, if you live in the Houston area, maybe The McLaughlin Group would've been preferable to what the NFL was offering yesterday:

Anyone else reminded of the map showing the returns from the 1984 Presidential election?

So everyone in the Texans viewing area got to watch two squads with a combined five wins instead of the battle of the last two undefeated teams. Assuming you didn't do like every other right-thinking human being and just go to a sports bar in the first place.

Or, if you were like me, you were stuck in an airport and got to watch one offensive series all day (while queuing up for boarding). So quit your bitching.

Classic. Out here all the sports talk radio guys were BEGGING the Raider fans NOT to go to the Raider game cuz if it doesn’t sell out by Friday, they black out the Raider game and show the national TV game, which was Pats/Colts. Luckily the overpriced ticket for two of the dullest NFL teams kept away “Raider Nation” and we all got the dissapointing Pats/Colts game.

Wow, that’s a hell of a graphic. But I don’t really watch the NFL, except for the Texans, and that’s just because I have a bet riding on their overall record.
We had electricians working here Saturday, so we had no power from 1 until after 6. And I couldn’t head elsewhere since they were here. So I feel your pain. Except I heard the last 8 minutes of the UT-OK St. game in the car. That almost made up for it.
Have you ever noticed how quiet it gets with no power? Eerie.

The Cleveland v. Seattle tilt was the game of the week, as hard as that might be to come to grips with.

Who would you start this week: Anderson or Hasselbeck?

Poor Port Arthur: first Rita, then this.
