I have a question. Don't worry, it's multiple choice:
1. For a straight, adult male, the act of going alone to a screening of Mamma Mia is
(a) gay
(b) creepy
(c) an untenable combination of (a) and (b)
I put this dilemma to The Wife, and she responded it was a little bit (a), but not really creepy. I replied that to really earn a (c) I'd have to go see that Jonas Brothers movie, and that ain't in the cards.
And Brosnan sings, doesn't he? Maybe I'll just go see The Dark Knight again.
Thanks for identifying the quote. I was trying to figure out where it would’ve fit into MAMMA MIA and couldn’t decide if it was from a missing verse of “Fernando” or possibly the extended disco version of “Dancing Queen” (either song would benefit). Looking forward to reading your review, Pete!
I agree with your wife that it was a little (a)…but if when Brosnan sings you sit back close your eyes and imagine him in that Speedo and cowboy boots outfit from The Matador, well then….
I love Abba, and I’m straight, and I’m extraordinarily single, so it’d have to be (b) for me, I guess. However, I saw the play Mamma Mia, and I have no particular need to hear other people sing Abba songs, so I won’t see the film Mamma Mia, so that kind of moots the question. Q.E.D.
Emily: it’s a line from the planned sequel, “Cthulhu Mia!”

Ie; C…with malice.
Well, I always enjoy a good random SALEM’S LOT quote.
