Sheeeeeeeit.
Vic would never do what Shane did. Even latched to a desk 9 to 5 and removed from any official street enforcement responsibilities, he’s too much of an adrenaline junkie. So for the time being he’ll cruise the streets of Farmington in the wee hours like that guy with the car full of guns in Highlander.
Yeah, Julian got kind of shoved to the side once he did the Ted Haggard thing, not that there was much more to say about the guy. Every time I felt bad for Ronnie, which was quite a bit over the last few episodes, I remembered he was balls deep in Terry Crowley’s murder just like everyone else. It’s kind of like when you find yourself sympathizing with Sil in The Sopranos, and then you remember he likes to beat up strippers.
The most disappointing thing about the series’ run to me was that they never went anywhere with Dutch killing that cat. I thought for sure we were going to open some dark doors there, but no dice. Though I did wonder - in the back of my mind - if he really did have something to do with that kid’s mother.
And now the only show I have to look forward to anymore is How I Met Your Mother.

And you can bet he’ll be a rebel in the office, too. There’s no way that tough motherfucker would EVER label his lunch.
Part of me thinks Gardocki still got the worst of it. He didn’t know about the Terry murder until after Lem was dead. And while he was disappointed that Vic didn’t have him in on it, he still had nothing to do with it, aside from not tell anyone once he found out. There was some brutal parts to him this season (like he really wanted to kill Shane) but he was the least problematic of the bunch.
While I kind of think he got the worst of it, thinking that Vic will stay in that awful 9-5 environment for the rest of his days seems like punishment enough. That shot of him sitting there, pondering his misery, contains some of the best acting I’ve seen on TV in a long time. With that said… I partially think that in time, Vic will get back to the streets and do things on the side. Illegal type things. I don’t really think he is the type to track his family. Not sure why.
Still, Gardocki is fucked. In prison, with no hope of getting out. He’ll be dead in no time.

Wasn’t his deal with ICE only for three years? I can see him sucking up desk duty (and doing his vigilante shit in the off-hours) for that time and then getting into private security or the like.
I was really happy it didn’t close with a text crawl or montage telling us what each character’s ultimate fate was….and I’m apprehensive that FX will eventually subject us to a Shield movie.

Yeah, but considering Office Bitch said that she was going to make him feel every day of those three years, and the bland office politics that would surround him, he’d have to grit his teeth even harder. Sure he’s been through some tough shit, but he’s yet to experience this, day after day.
Everyone pretty much got what they deserved…which kinda really, really sucked for most of our cast. And poor Gardocki—guy never caught a break, and he was the smartest (brains-wise) of the bunch.
And I liked the little touches, like Julian’s longing at the dudes sauntering hand-in-hand, which was something that hadn’t been mentioned in about four seasons.
What do you think Mackey did at the end? Went out and busted heads on the street in his own inimitable style, or went off to find a place to pull a “Vendrell”?
